    • Monitor Humidity & Use Fans: In a greenhouse or indoor space, use fans and possibly a dehumidifier during flowering to maintain humidity around 40–50%. Outdoors, you can’t control ambient humidity, but you can ensure your site gets good morning sun to dry the dew. If your yard is very enclosed, a small outdoor-rated fan in the early morning can help evaporate moisture (just be cautious with electronics outdoors). 
    • Organic Preventatives: Use preventative sprays before bud formation. In veg and early flower, you can apply things like neem oil, potassium bicarbonate, or bio-fungicides like Serenade (Bacillus subtilis) to leaf surfaces to deter mildew. Once buds form, avoid spraying anything directly on them. Instead, focus on environmental control. For powdery mildew, a 1:9 milk to water spray can help spot-treat leaves early, but again not on mature buds. 
    • Harvest on Time: Don’t push your plants too long hoping for extra ripening if the weather is turning against you. It’s often better to harvest a few days early than to wait and get hit with bud rot from an unexpected rain. Watch trichomes closely in late flower; once they’re in the desired range, pick a dry day to harvest. 
    • Inspect Plants Daily: Early detection of any mold is crucial. Check inside large colas for any gray or brownish spots – that could indicate bud rot starting. If you find moldy bits, remove them carefully (seal in a bag and dispose away from the garden) and consider harvesting the plant soon if it’s nearly ready.
